Smoothwall Agents and Extensions Overview – Help Centre

This article applies to organisations with a Cloud setup, and those with a 'Hybrid' setup (both On-Premise Appliance and Cloud).

You can install one of three Smoothwall Agents or Extensions on devices to apply filtering both on-site and off-site (when not using your organisation’s network):

	Web Filter Policies for individual usernames	Yes. These can’t be set up in Cloud Filter, but are synced from On-Premise Appliance.

	Block page	Yes, the Cloud Filter Block page shows on devices when access is blocked because of a Web Filter Policy.
Reporting	Data used in Cloud Reports	Only activity within Smoothwall Browser is logged. You can’t report on activity without a Cloud Reports licence.	All activity on the device is logged. You can’t report on activity without a Cloud Reports licence.	Only activity within the browser with Cloud Filter Extension installed is logged.
