You can create a Custom Report in Cloud Reporting to drill down into your web access reports with a combination of filters.
Run the report
- Sign in to the Cloud Portal and go to Reporting > New Filter Report.
- Select the Custom Report tab.
- Enter a Report Name.
- If you have a multi-tenant setup, you’ll see a Tenant field:
- If you are an Administrator, select one or more Tenant checkboxes or the All Tenants option.
- If you have Reporting access, the tenant you are linked with will be selected.
Tip
Check the Multi-tenant Report requirements if you can’t see the Tenant field.
- You can include Log Level 1 and 2 data in reports and downloads by setting the Include advanced log details toggle to the On position.
- Select what data to report on using at least one of the Filters:

User or Group:
- Leave both boxes clear to show requests for all users.
- Enter the name of a User Group:
- If you have a multi-tenant setup, you’ll see User Groups only for the Tenant(s) you selected.
- Select from your custom User Groups. You can’t select Everyone, or the Default users, Banned users or Unauthenticated IPs built-in User Groups.
Note
If multiple User Groups share the same name across your tenants, the name will appear only once in the list. Your report will include all logs from the selected group, limited to the tenants you selected.
- Enter a user’s Username:
- If you use Directories for authentication, enter at least three characters of a username, then select the username from the drop-down.
- If you don’t use Directories, enter the full username. Common formats include username@domain and domain\username.

Device:
- Leave empty to include all devices.
- Although the field requires you to enter at least three characters, you need to enter the full device name to filter for a specific device.

Domain:
- Leave empty to include all domains.
- Enter a domain like example.com or a subdomain such as blog.example.com to filter data further.

Category:
- Leave empty to include all categories.
- Enter at least one letter to open a drop-down of default and Custom Categories. Select up to five to include in the report.

User or Group:

Select a start and an end Date and Time.
Note
- You can select a date range of up to 31 days.
- You can select dates from the past 90 days. Only data from when you started using Smoothwall will show in your reports.
- Select Run Report. You’ll be taken back to the Reports page, where you’ll see your report is generating with the status of In Progress.
- You’ll receive an email letting you know when the report is ready. Select View report now.
Download the report data
- To access the report, you can:
- Refresh your page if you were waiting for it to move from In Progress to Ready.
- Select the View report now button in the email.
- Sign in to the Cloud Portal and select Reporting.
- If you are part of a multi-tenant environment, select the Tenant for which the report was generated.
- Select Download to download the data as a CSV.
