Create a manual backup of On-Premise Appliance settings

This article applies to our On-Premise Appliance Filter and Firewall product only, not to Cloud.

 

You can use Archive profiles to back up your Smoothwall appliance settings. An Archive profile is a list of settings and log files that you can choose to include in a manual or scheduled backup. You can use this backup to restore your appliance settings to an earlier configuration.

Taking a manual backup

  1. Create a new Archive profile if you don’t have one already.
  2. Go to System > Maintenance > Archives.
  3. Scroll down to the Settings section.
  4. Select an Archive profile from the Profile drop-down.
  5. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select Save and backup to generate the backup.
  6. You can download your backup, and any older backups, from the table on the System > Maintenance > Archives page.
