You can restore your system settings from a previous backup point. You can create backups manually when needed, on a schedule, or by using our default backups to Cloud.
Go to System > Maintenance > Archives. You’ll see a table of all past backups, along with their sizes and the dates they were taken.
Download a backup
Select a checkbox in the Mark column, then select Download. You can only download backups one at a time.
Delete backups
Select one or multiple checkboxes in the Mark column, then select Delete.
Upload and restore backups
Before you begin
Smoothwall only restores settings for modules that were installed when you created the backup and are installed when you restore the backup. Install all modules you need to use before restoring the backup.
Upload a backup
Go to the Upload heading. Enter a name, select the file, then select Upload.
Restore a backup
- Check if you have backups to restore. If not, follow the steps above to upload a backup.
- Select a checkbox in the Mark column to select the backup.
- Select Restore below the list of backups.
- A new section will appear with the name of the backup.
- Select the checkboxes for each area of Smoothwall settings included in the backup to apply.
- Select Restore below the table.
- The configuration will be applied, which can take a few minutes. Once complete, your page will refresh. For the changes to take effect, you must restart your Smoothwall.
Note
If you are missing settings for modules, install all modules you need to use, then restore the backup again.
