You can exclude domains, URLs and searches from showing up in the Full Report and from generating Safeguarding Alerts. Exclusions don't remove the entries from the logs.
Add an Exclusion
- Go to Report > Safeguarding > Full Report.
- Hover over the Domain, URL or Search term and select Exclude.
- The exclusion for this Domain, URL or Search term will then appear on the Reports > Safeguarding > Exclusions page alongside the Type and Safeguarding theme.

Remove an Exclusion
- Go to Reports > Safeguarding > Exclusions.
- Hover over the exclusion and select Delete.
Domain, URL or Search term
Domains
When you exclude a domain, Smoothwall does not also exclude any subdomains or top-level domains (TLDs). For example, if you exclude www.google.com, this doesn't exclude www.google.co.uk or mail.google.com.
When you exclude a domain in the report, the domain is only excluded for the Safeguarding theme that the breach was for.
URLs
You can exclude either the whole URL, or just the domain segment. For example, if the breach was for: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drug, you can choose whether to exclude: https://en.wikipedia.org/ or the whole URL https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drug.
Search terms
Excluding a search term only excludes that search term, not the search engine used. You can only exclude search terms from the single user view of the Safeguarding full report.
