You can generate a Safeguarding Alert to ensure that staff in your organisation can receive Safeguarding Alert emails.
Note
If you are using On-Premise Appliance, test your SMTP setup.
Before you begin
- Inform staff in your organisation that you are testing Safeguarding Alerts and ask them to confirm receipt of the test email.
- If you use Cloud Filter for Safeguarding Alerts, test on a device with one of the Agents and Extensions installed. Ensure the Diagnostics page shows Mode 2.
- If you use the On-Premise Appliance for your Safeguarding Alerts, you must use HTTPS Inspection to Decrypt and Inspect for either of the tests below to work.
Run the test
Tip
If you use Smoothwall Monitor, the test below will send a Safeguarding Alert and a Monitor Alert. Use this URL to send only a Safeguarding Alert: https://test.mysmoothwall.net/selfharm
Open your browser and search for Smoothwall Test Suicide, then press Enter on your keyboard.
- The ‘Smoothwall Test’ part informs staff and future reports that this is a test.
- The ‘Suicide’ part ensures a Safeguarding Alert is sent because it has the highest Safeguarding Severity.
- If you use Smoothwall Monitor, using this phrase prevents the call from the Monitor Moderation team.
Depending on your setup, Smoothwall will send Instant and Scheduled Safeguarding Alerts to the contacts you have added.
