This article applies to organisations with a 'Hybrid' setup (both On-Premise Appliance and Cloud), as well as On-Premise only and Cloud only setups.
All Safeguarding Alerts are categorised by Severity.
What are the Safeguarding Severities and colours?
There are three Safeguarding Alert Severities:
- Danger - The highest importance, shown in red
- Caution - Shown in orange
- Advisory - Shown in blue
Where is the Severity shown?
The Safeguarding Alert Severity is used to categorise the breach on the Full Report, which can be used to look back at a full history of users attempting to access content that may be harmful.
You can see the Severity in the body of Safeguarding Alert emails, for both scheduled and Instant Safeguarding Alerts from the On-Premise Appliance, and Safeguarding Alerts from Cloud Filter.
Where an Alert is generated for content that falls into more than one Category (for example, Suicide - Advisory and Suicide - Danger), the highest Severity is used as the overall Severity for the Safeguarding Alert.
Where are Safeguarding Alerts colour-coded?
- Safeguarding Alert emails: Severity is only colour-coded in scheduled and Instant Safeguarding Alert emails generated from the On-Premise Appliance.
- Safeguarding Reports: Severity is colour-coded in both On-Premise Appliance and Cloud Reporting.
Are Safeguarding Alerts sent for all Severities?
The Severity determines whether a Safeguarding Alert is sent.
For Safeguarding Alerts sent from On-Premise Appliance:
- Scheduled Alerts are sent about all Severities.
- Instant Alerts are only sent for Danger Severities, not for Caution or Advisory.
Safeguarding Alerts sent from Cloud Filter are sent about all Severities.
Can we customise or add new Safeguarding Severities?
It is not possible to add new Severities or to customise the names of the existing Severities.
