All Safeguarding Alerts are categorised into a Safeguarding Severity.
What are the Safeguarding Severities and colours?
There are three Safeguarding Severities:
- Danger - The highest importance, shown in red
- Caution - Shown in orange
- Advisory - Shown in blue-green
Where is the Severity shown?
The Safeguarding Severity is used to categorise the breach in Safeguarding Reports, which can be used to review a full history of users attempting to access content that may be harmful.
The Safeguarding Severity is displayed in Safeguarding Alert emails for both Scheduled and Instant Safeguarding Alerts.
Where a Safeguarding Alert is generated for content that falls into more than one Safeguarding Severity (for example, Suicide - Advisory and Suicide - Danger), the highest is used as the overall Safeguarding Severity for the Safeguarding Alert.
Where are Safeguarding Alerts colour-coded?
- Safeguarding Alerts: Safeguarding Severity is colour-coded in Scheduled and Instant Safeguarding Alerts generated from the On-Premise Appliance and scheduled Safeguarding Alerts from Cloud Filter. You won’t see colours in the Instant Safeguarding Alerts from Cloud Filter.
- Safeguarding Reports: Safeguarding Severity is colour-coded in both On-Premise Appliance and Cloud Reporting.
Are Safeguarding Alerts sent for all Severities?
The Safeguarding Severity determines whether a Safeguarding Alert is sent.
- Scheduled Safeguarding Alerts are sent about all Safeguarding Severities.
- For Instant Safeguarding Alerts:
- The On-Premise Appliance only sends for Danger Safeguarding Severity, not for Caution or Advisory.
- Cloud Filter sends about all Safeguarding Severities.
Can we customise or add new Safeguarding Severities?
You can’t add new Safeguarding Severities or customise the names of the existing Safeguarding Severities.
