Missing event log entries in Cloud Reporting

This article applies exclusively to Hybrid setups (both On-Premise Appliance and Cloud). It does not apply to On-Premise Appliance-only or Cloud-only setups.

You may have a Parent and Child Smoothwall setup where a cluster of Child Smoothwall Appliances feed data logs into a Parent Smoothwall for Cloud Reporting purposes. If you have this setup, you may encounter missing log entries in Cloud Reporting, for example in Safeguarding reports.

To fix this, you must enable Cloud Reporting for your Child Smoothwall Appliances from the Parent Smoothwall Appliance.

Step 1: Identify the Child Smoothwall Appliance

  1. Sign into the Parent Smoothwall On-Premise Appliance.
  2. Go to System > Central management > Child nodes.
  3. Make note of the Replication profile for each Child Smoothwall Appliance.

Step 2: Enable Cloud Reporting for that Child Smoothwall Appliance

  1. Go to System > Maintenance > Archives.
  2. Scroll down to the Settings section.
  3. Select a profile to apply the configuration to and Select.
  4. Scroll down and ensure the checkbox for Cloud Reporting under Guardian3 is selected.
  5. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select Save.

Repeat Step 2 for all Child node Replication profiles that you need to send data for.

This will push the configuration down to the Child Smoothwall Appliance, so it can send the data to Cloud Reporting.
