If you want to to check what is allowed and what has been blocked and in which category, on the user's device, you can navigate to the real-time log and see a log of your user's websites.
Procedure
- Sign in to the user's device and in the browser address bar, type: smoothwall://
- Press the spacebar or tab and then type r.
- From the prepopulated options, click: Smoothwall Real Time Filtering Log Viewer.
- This page appears:
The list is updated every 30 seconds and clears down after five minutes.
To turn off real-time updates or clear-downs and prevent the logs from disappearing from the page, you can click the Live toggle.
You can open another tab, and visit the page you wish to test.
You can search for specific website addresses and order the list by any of the column headings.
The Action column is only for information, you can't perform any actions here.
Timestamp | Indicates when the user accessed the site. |
URL | The web address of the website that the user navigated to. |
Categories | The filter category that is applied to the website. |
Action | The action that the filter has taken on the website. You can't click this column, it is for information purposes only. |
Matched Rule | The policy that matched the request (if any). The number corresponds to the position of the policy in your filtering policy table. |
