When you raise a ticket with our Support Team, we may ask you for a Serial Number to help verify your identity. This article outlines what each ID Number is, as well as how to find it.
Unified Client Serial Number (UNCL)
Your Unified Client Serial Number, also referred to as the UNCL, is the unique identifier for the organisation organisation that manages your setup.
The UNCL is required when setting up or provisioning many things related to Smoothwall, such as when using the Cloud Filter Extension on Windows.
- Sign in to Cloud Portal.
- Go to Home > Admin Panel > Account Information.
On-Premise Appliance Software Serial Number
The Appliance Software Serial Number is the licence key for your setup or cluster of Smoothwalls.
- Sign in to the On-Premise Appliance.
- On the dashboard, go to the Support information section.
- You will see your Software Serial Number in the Serial row.
On-Premise Appliance Hardware Serial Number
The Appliance Hardware Serial Number is an identifier for your physical Smoothwall devices. You can find it on your physical Smoothwall device.
On-Premise Appliance Hardware ID
The Appliance Hardware ID is the unique identifier for this particular hardware installation. If your Smoothwall is rebuilt, you’d get a new Hardware ID for the new build.
- Sign in to the On-Premise Appliance.
- On the dashboard, go to the Support information section.
- You will see your Software Serial Number in the Hardware ID row.
