An Archive Profile is a list of On-Premise Appliance settings you can choose to include in a manual or scheduled Settings Archive. You can use Settings Archives to restore your Smoothwall Appliance settings to an earlier configuration.
Important
If you have a centrally managed setup:
- Selecting a setting with a
icon will copy the configuration of that area to your child nodes.
- The settings you should select are influenced by many factors. Please contact the Support Team or your Customer Success Manager for a tailored solution.
Create an Archive Profile of your On-Premise Appliance settings
- Go to System > Maintenance > Archives.
- Go to the Settings section.
- Select an Empty slot from the Profile drop-down.
- Enter a Profile name.
- Ensure the Automatic backup checkbox is selected to generate Settings Archives on a schedule.
Note
This checkbox is selected by default. Clearing the checkbox has no effect if you plan to create Settings Archives manually, but changing the setting will affect your existing scheduled Settings Archives.
- (Optional) Enter a comment to help distinguish your different Archive Profiles.
- Select the checkboxes next to the settings you want to include, or select the All checkbox at the top of the table.
- The Logs section lists all the services the squid service generates if it encounters an error. Note this doesn’t include logs generated by the firewall or web proxy access services, or user browsing data. Select the checkboxes next to the log types you want to back up, or select the All checkbox at the top of the table.
- Select either:
- Save: Save the Archive Profile to use when creating a Settings Archive later.
- Save and backup: Save the Archive Profile and generate a Settings Archive.
Edit an Archive Profile
- Go to System > Maintenance > Archives.
- Move down to the Settings section.
- Select the Archive Profile from the Profile drop-down.
- Make any changes as needed. For example, if you change whether the Automatic backup checkbox is ticked, it will affect any existing scheduled Settings Archives.
- Go to the bottom of the page and select Save.
Delete an Archive Profile
You can’t delete existing Archive Profiles.
If you have reached the maximum number of 20 Archive Profiles, you will need to edit an existing Archive Profile to suit your needs.
