Add or remove Authentication Exceptions

This article applies to our On-Premise Appliance Filter and Firewall product only, not to Cloud.

 

You can add Authentication Exceptions to prevent Smoothwall from running an authentication check on specific content Categories.

Important

Read Understanding Authentication Exceptions before making any changes.

 

Before you begin

  1. Check if the content you want to add an exception for is already in an existing category.
  2. Create Custom Categories or Category Groups to group content together.

Add Authentication Exceptions

  1. Go to Web Proxy > Authentication > Exceptions.
  2. Select one or more Categories in the Available categories or category groups section.
  3. Select Add to move the Category into the Included categories or category groups section.
  4. Select Save.

Remove Authentication Exceptions

  1. Go to Web Proxy > Authentication > Exceptions.
  2. Select one or more Categories in the Included categories or category groups section.
  3. Select Remove to move the Category into the Available categories or category groups section.
  4. Select Save.
