Check if a URL is part of the block list

Smoothwall has built-in Categories to prevent access to undesirable content. You can also add your own custom lists to allow or block specific domains, URLs, search terms or videos with custom Web Filter Policies as required.

  Tip

This feature is only available in On-Premise Appliance. Use the Category Test Tool when filtering using the Cloud Filter Extension.

Before creating custom Categories or Policies, check whether the site's URL is already included in an existing category.

  1. Go to Guardian > Policy objects > Categories.
  2. In the Search tools section, enter the URL you want to test.
  3. Select Find categories. The results are shown in a table.
  4. Select the Category name to view the details of the category.
  5. The category is shown in the Manage categories section, where you can make edits if needed.
