Check if a URL is part of the block list

This article applies to our On-Premise Appliance Filter and Firewall product only, not to Cloud.

 

Smoothwall has built-in Blocklist Categories to prevent access to undesirable content. You can also set up your own custom lists to allow or block specific URLs as required.

Before creating custom Web Filter Policies, check whether the URL of the site in question is already included in an existing category.

  1. Go to Guardian > Policy Objects > Categories.
  2. Go to the Search tools section.
  3. Enter the URL that you want to test and select Find categories. The results are shown in a table.
  4. Select the Category name to view the details of the category.
  5. The category is shown in the Manage categories section, where you can make edits if needed.
