When the Smoothwall Appliance acts as your DHCP server, static DHCP addresses may be assigned to incorrect or multiple devices. Amend your settings so that each static DHCP address is assigned to a single device on your network.
Check current leases
- Go to Services > DHCP > DHCP leases.
- Ensure the Show free leases checkbox is selected and select Update.
- In the table, you can see details of the network host that submitted the DHCP request:
- IP address
- Start time: When the DHCP lease started.
- End time: When the DHCP lease ends and the IP address becomes free.
- MAC address
- Hostname
-
State:
- Active: The IP address is currently leased.
- Free: The IP address is not currently used.
