This article is for all Safeguarding Record Manager users.
Safeguarding Training is designed to help all staff better understand their responsibilities in safeguarding children and young people at school, as well as become familiar with safeguarding legislation and regulation. The training takes one hour to complete.
IMPORTANT: Mandatory training for all staff
Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) mandates that all staff must receive safeguarding training at the point of induction and regular updates thereafter.
Learning outcomes
At the end of the course, you will:
- Understand how safeguarding is everybody’s responsibility.
- Understand relevant safeguarding legislation and guidance, particularly Annex A of Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE).
- Know the different types of abuse, its signs, and indicators.
- Understand what radicalisation is, and the Channel framework of Prevent Strategy.
- Understand how children with special education needs are at a higher risk of harm.
- Know how to respond appropriately to concerns about the safety and welfare of children.
- Identify ways to create a safe environment, including digital safeguarding training for staff and children.
