Change the Default Tenant

This article applies to all setups: Cloud-only, On-Premise Appliance-only and Hybrid setups (both On-Premise Appliance and Cloud).

  Warning

If you need to delete or change your default tenant, select Submit a request from the top of the Help Centre to contact the Support Team. Do not delete the old tenant as this could cause your setup not to function as expected.

Tenants are a way to customise your settings for different parts of your organisation.

  • In the On-Premise Appliance, your instance either doesn’t have tenants, or is multi-tenant. There is no Default Tenant.
  • In Cloud, all instances have tenants, even if only one exists. Smoothwall makes the first created tenant Default Tenant.

You may need to change the Default Tenant. For example, the School that is your default tenant is moving from your MAT to another MAT. The only way to do this is to select Submit a request from the top of the Help Centre to contact the Support Team.
