This article describes the steps for manually resetting your Safeguarding Record Manager password.

If you’re signing in with Google or Microsoft Single Sign-On (SSO), follow your SSO provider’s instructions for resetting your password.
Reset your password
- Go to https://app.safeguard.software.
- Under the Email address and Password fields, select Forgot your password?

- You will be taken to the Forgot Your Password? dialog. Enter your email address in the email field. Ensure your email address is correct and that it’s the same email address registered on your user account.

- Select Send Email. Record Manager will email the password reset link with the subject, “Reset Your Password”.
- Open the email and select the password reset link. The password reset link expires in one hour. If it expires, ask for another password reset link (step 2).

- The Set Password page will open. Enter your new password in the New password and Confirm new password fields. Your password must have at least eight (8) characters, including:
- lower case letters
- upper case letters
- numbers
- special characters (for example, ! @ # $ % ^ & * .)

- Select Set Password.
- The Set Password screen will appear to let you know your password reset is successful. You can select Return to login page to sign in with your new password.
