All Smoothwalls post Leeds45 are eligible for cloud backup. This means that we will take backups of your settings for use in the event of a failure. This will happen automatically from 30 April 2021.
The new Leeds-45 update being released in the coming weeks contains a Cloud backup feature.
Smoothwall configurations will be automatically backed up to the Cloud once a week. This will ensure settings remain in tact, therefore facilitating and speeding up system recoveries.
Note that log files and personal identifiable information are not included in the backup. They will be stored for two weeks as normal.
To opt out customers should contact their Account Manager. You can opt-out at any time. Otherwise, no action is required. Backups will automatically commence from April 30th 2021.
The back up will be stored in Zurich, Switzerland; a secure and permissible third country.
