Configuring the Smoothwall Filter to Allow applications which use the Covid-19 Exposure Notification System

To ensure that applications developed by public health bodies which make use of the Covid-19 Exposure Notification System work correctly, you will need to place the 'Covid-19 Exposure Notification Apps' into a 'Do Not Inspect' HTTPS Inspection policy.

Procedure

1. Navigate to Guardian > HTTPS Inspection > Policy Wizard and create a new HTTPS Inspection policy as below;
   
   Who: Everyone
   What: Covid-19 Exposure Notification Apps
   Where: Everywhere
   When: Always
   Action: Do Not Inspect
   
   
2. Save the newly created policy and ensure it's placed above any 'Decrypt and Inspect' policies.
