Supported Configuration
- Remote connected workstations should use Connect Filter for mac OS instead of IDex Client.
- Connect Filter for macOS and IDex Client can't be installed together on the same device.
- Browser: All browser types are supported.
- Operating Systems: macOS 10.10 and higher.
Prerequisites
- If you use a load balancer, you can use the virtual IP address assigned to the Smoothwall Filter and Firewall service as an IDex Client interface, see our help topic, Configuring the web proxy.
- Add the nominated interface and TCP port combination for the IDex client to the Smoothwall Filter and Firewall, see our help topic, Adding interfaces for IDex Client. Select only internal (Basic) interfaces, because the IDex Client should only be used in trusted networks. Make a note of:
- IP address or host name.
- Port number.
- If you use groups to filter your users' traffic, you must use the IDex Directory to map the domain groups to the local Smoothwall Filter and Firewall user groups, see our help topic, Adding an IDex directory.
