This article shows how to apply content modifications to Google.
Step 1: Set up HTTPS Inspection
Set up a HTTPS policy for Search Engines to Decrypt and Inspect.
Step 2: Create a Content Modification policy
Go to Guardian > Content Modification > Policy wizard to create a new content modification policy.
- In the Who section, select who the policy applies to. Select either:
- Everyone to apply to all users
- One or more User Groups
- The single user icon and enter a username (not available in Cloud Filter)
- In the What section, select Google.
Tip: To apply Remove Translation From Google and Bing Search Results to both Google and Bing, select Search Engines in the What field.
- In the Where section, select where the policy should apply. Select either:
- Everywhere
- One or more network locations (IP or range of IPs)
- In the When section, select when the policy should apply from your list of Time slots.
- In the Action section, select Apply, and one of these items:
- Remove Adverts from Google
- Block Google Doodle Games
- Remove Translation From Google and Bing Search Results
- Remove YouTube videos from Google Search
- Google Web Search: Basic Mode - This removes everything that's not an actual search result from the search results page, including YouTube videos, Adverts, Translations, AI Summaries and more.
Make sure Enable policy is selected, then select Confirm.
