This article applies to organisations with a 'Hybrid' setup (both On-Premise Appliance and Cloud), as well as On-Premise only and Cloud only setups.
This article explains how to prevent different features from appearing when using Google.
Apply Content Modification to Google
Step 1: Set up HTTPS Inspection
If you are using the On-Premise Appliance for Content Modification, you must have a HTTPS Inspection Policy to Decrypt and Inspect the Everything category. If this is not possible, Decrypt and Inspect the Search Engines category.
Step 2: Create a Content Modification policy
Create a content modification policy for these items:
- For On-Premise Appliance, select Google or Search Engines in the What field.
- Select one or more of these Content Modifications:
- Google - Remove adverts
- Google - Block Doodle games
- Google & Bing - Remove translation from search results
- Google - Remove YouTube videos from search results
- Google - Web search (basic mode)
- (Cloud only) Google - Remove lyrics from search results
Block Easter Eggs
Content Modification can’t block Google’s Easter Eggs. Instead, use Search term filtering to block keywords and phrases associated with Easter Eggs. For example:
- askew
- do a barrel roll
- game of life
- blink html
- google in 1998
