Unable to register the Smoothwall.
A Warning appears at the top of every page of the Smoothwall administration user interface advising registration is being attempted.
If the Smoothwall fails to register, licenses, modules, and updates will not to be uploaded or installed. The Smoothwall needs to be connected to the Internet and registered before any continuing with normal operations.
The most common causes are:
- No internet connection
The Smoothwall is unable to connect to the internet. Check connectivity and set up using the diagnostics tools under System > Diagnostics > Functionality tests.
- Smoothwall is filtered upstream
If the Smoothwall is filtered through an upstream proxy, ensure the upstream proxy details are entered under System > Preferences > Registration options.
Once the cause has been corrected, you can retry the registration with the Retry registration request button contained in the Warning.
