Allow Access to a Website That Uses a Non-Standard Port

Some websites don't use a standard port of 80. You can usually tell by looking at the URL. If it contains a port number, the site is trying to connect through a non-standard port. For example: http://www.domain.com:4000. To let your users connect to these sites, you need to add the port number to your Smoothwall Filter and Firewall.

Procedure

1. Add the port numbers to the allowed list of port numbers for web proxy web filter configuration, see our help topic, Configuring the web proxy.
2. Make sure you restart the proxy after you save your changes.
