To connect your Smoothwall Filter and Firewall to your G Suite domain successfully, you must create a Service Account in the Google Developers Console. This grants a device access to Google, with this the Smoothwall Filter and Firewall can access usernames, groups, and organizational units. The account allows the Smoothwall Filter and Firewall to read your G Suite domain user and group information. The Service Account must be downloaded in a JSON format.

- Create a service account key without a role, see the Google help topic, Service account.
- Service account: Either select one or select "New service account".
- Service account name: Enter a name for your service account, for example, Smoothwall.
- Role: DON'T SELECT ONE.
- Service account ID: Generated automatically.
- Key type: JSON
- Service account: Either select one or select "New service account".
- Click CREATE WITHOUT ROLE. The JSON key is downloaded to your computer automatically. On the Private key saved to your computer popup click close.
