Add an SSL VPN archive

You can create an SSL VPN archive in Smoothwall On-Premise Appliance that contains VPN settings, with or without custom scripts. Use this archive to allow users to connect to your organisation’s VPN, for example, to use OpenVPN Connect installed on their computer.

  1. Go to Network > VPN > Global or Network > VPN > SSL roadwarriors.
  2. Select Generate client archive.
  3. The zipped SmoothWall-SSL-VPN-install file will download to your computer. This archive contains two PEM files and the OpenVPN configuration file.
  4. Distribute the Connection.ovpn file to users and devices using the SSL VPN.
    • Users should import the file into their SSL VPN client software.
    • Alternatively, allow users to download the SSL VPN archive from the User Portal.
