Default Anti-malware policies

This article applies to our On-Premise Appliance Filter and Firewall product only, not to Cloud.

 

When your organisation starts using Smoothwall Filter, we recommend that these default Anti-malware Policies are applied to ensure Smoothwall can scan content for malware threats:

  • Do not scan the Software Updates and Safe Content Filetypes categories.
  • A folder containing categories to scan:
    • Bandwidth Wasting Filetypes
    • Octet Streams
    • In-page Executables
    • Executable Files
    • Archive Filetypes

Check your policies from Guardian > Anti-malware > Manage policies.

If your policies look different to what’s shown below, you can add, change the order of, or edit them.
