Content Modification allows you to grant access to specific websites while blocking certain content types on the pages your users visit. Create a custom Content Modification only if existing Content Modifications don’t suit your needs and you know the content to block.
Create a custom Content Modification
- Go to Guardian > Content modifications > Policy Wizard.
- Expand the Action section.
- Select Create a new content modification. The page opens in a new tab.
- Enter a Name and optional comment.
- If you have a multi-tenant setup, you’ll see the Tenant field:
- Select All to apply the Content Modification when used in a Content Modification Policy to all tenants.
- Select a tenant to have the Content Modification when used in a Content Modification Policy only apply to that tenant.
- Enter any HTTP Headers to the Request headers to override field in a comma-separated list.
Select Save. - Close the tab and return to your original tab. You can now use this Content Modification in a Content Modification Policy.
Edit a custom Content Modification
- Go to Guardian > Content modifications > Policy Wizard.
- Expand the Action section.
- Select Create a new content modification. The page opens in a new tab.
- Find the Content Modification in the Content modifications table.
- Select the pencil icon.
- Edit the configuration in the Manage content modifications section.
- Select Save.
- Close the tab and return to your original tab.
Delete a custom Content Modification
- Edit or delete any Content Modification Policies to remove the custom Content Modification you want to delete. If you don’t, you’ll see an error: ‘Validation failed because a contentmod cannot be removed when it is still in use.’
- Go to Guardian > Content modifications > Policy Wizard.
- Expand the Action section.
- Select Create a new content modification. The page opens in a new tab.
- Find the Content Modification in the Content modifications table.
- Select the X icon.
- Close the tab and return to your original tab.
