This article applies to organisations with a Cloud setup, and those with a 'Hybrid' setup (both On-Premise Appliance and Cloud).
You can manage Content Modification policies in Cloud Filter for Cloud only or Hybrid setups (On-Premise Appliance and Cloud Portal). If you have a Hybrid setup, and you turn on managing Content Modification from Cloud Filter, you will need to use Cloud Filter to turn off or edit your Content Modification Policies.
You can’t remove a Content Modification from the list, but you can turn it off.
Edit a policy
Warning
If you remove everything from the Groups and Locations fields, the Content Modification won't apply to devices.
- Go to Filter > Content Modifications.
- If you have a multi-tenant environment, select a tenant in the top right or select All Tenants.
- Depending on the policy you want to edit, select the General, Video Streaming, Media, or Safe Search tab.
- Select the policy to expand the editor and make your changes. You’ll see a notification in the bottom right that says: ‘content mod has been updated’.
- Go to Filter > Publishing and select Publish to apply your changes.
Turn off a policy
Important
If you have a Hybrid setup, turning off all policies in Cloud Filter, then publishing your changes reinstates the Content Modification policies in On-Premise Appliance that you used before moving to Cloud Filter.
- Go to Filter > Content Modifications.
- If you have a multi-tenant environment, select the tenant in the top right or All Tenants.
- Depending on the policy you want to turn off, select the General, Video Streaming, Media, or Safe Search tab.
- Switch the toggle to the Off position. You’ll see a notification in the bottom right that says: ‘content mod has been updated’.
- Go to Filter > Publishing and select Publish to apply your changes.
