This article applies to organisations with a 'Hybrid' setup (both On-Premise Appliance and Cloud), as well as On-Premise only and Cloud only setups.
Content Modification lets you allow access to specific websites while blocking certain content types on the pages your users visit. This article shows how to switch off, edit, or delete Content Modification Policies and folders.
Info
We may remove items from the Content Modifications list. If we remove an item, it will appear as ‘Deleted Content Mod’ in your policy table and will no longer have any effect. You may wish to delete that Content Modification Policy.
Hybrid (On-Premise Appliance and Cloud Filter)
If you have a Hybrid setup (both Cloud and On-Premise Appliance), you can manage Content Modifications through the On-Premise Appliance until you switch to Cloud Filter.
On-Premise Appliance
Switch policies or folders on and off
- Go to Guardian > Content Modification > Manage policies.
- Select the toggle in the Enabled column.
- Select Save.
Important
Policies within folders that are not enabled have no effect, even if the policy itself is enabled.
Edit a policy or folder
- Go to Guardian > Content Modification > Manage policies.
- Select the pencil icon to edit the policy or folder.
- Edit the configuration of the Who, What, Where and Action fields.
- Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select Confirm to save your changes.
If you edit any of the Who, What, Where and When fields for the Policy folder, your changes will apply to the Policies within the folder. Once you add policies to the Policy folder, you can only edit the items you defined when you created your Policy folder.
Delete a policy or folder
- Go to Guardian > Content Modification > Manage policies.
- Select the icon with an X symbol to delete the policy or a folder and the policies within it.
