The Smoothwall uses filters to classify messages according to their textual content. The Smoothwall supplies a default filter. You can create, edit and delete filters. You can also create custom categories of phrases for use in filters.
Procedure
- On the SERVICES menu, under the Message censor submenu, click Filters.
- Under the Add filter section, enter a meaningful Name for the filter and an optional Comment.
- Under the Custom phrase list section, choose the categories that you want to include in the filter.
- Click Add.
You can view and select the filter that you created on the Services Policies page.
Follow-up tasks
- To edit a filter:
- Under the Current filters section, mark the filter and click Edit.
- In the Custom phrase list area, edit the settings.
- Click Add to save your changes.
- Click Restart to apply the changes.
- To delete a filter:
- Under the Current filters section, select the filter, click Remove.
- Click Restart to apply the changes.
