Unblocking communication ports for RADIUS traffic

The Smoothwall Filter and Firewall uses port 1812 and 1813 to send and receive RADIUS traffic. You must add access rules to allow traffic from BYOD devices.

Procedure

1. On the NETWORK menu, under the Firewall submenu, click Smoothwall access.
2. Add an access rule for the following Services:
   • If your Smoothwall Firewall is acting as both the RADIUS authentication and accounting server:
     • RADIUS authentication (1812)
     • RADIUS accounting (1813)
   • For all other BYOD configurations:
     • RADIUS accounting (1813)
