With the DHCP service your network hosts can obtain IP address and other network settings automatically.
The DHCP service provides a fully featured DHCP server, with the following capabilities:
- Support for 20 DHCP subnets.
- Allocate addresses within multiple dynamic ranges and static assignments per DHCP subnet.
- Automate the creation of static assignments by using the ARP cache.
You can use the DHCP service in either Server mode, or Relay mode.
You can turn on and use DHCP and set its mode of operation. Configure automatic dynamic and static IP leasing to DHCP requests received from network hosts. View all current DHCP leases, including IP address, MAC address, host name, lease start and end time, and the current lease state. Configure the DHCP service to forward all DHCP requests to another DHCP server and reroute DHCP responses back to the requesting host. You can also create and edit custom DHCP options.
