UPS devices provide emergency power if the mains power supply fails. You can connect a UPS device to the Smoothwall Filter and Firewall hardware appliance and view details of any connected UPS device on the SYSTEM > Central management > Overview page. You can also set up the Smoothwall to send an alert when the power switches from the mains supply, and when it switches back again.
