Prerequisite
- Make sure that you meet all the Prerequisites.
- Unblocking communication ports for RADIUS traffic.
Procedure
On the SERVICES menu, under the Authentication submenu, click BYOD.
- To download the Smoothwall certificate:
- Under the Certificates section, click Download CA certificate.
- Copy the certificate to a secure location, then import it into the devices’ browser. For a detailed description of how to import certificates, refer to the devices’ accompanying documentation.
- To add a new RADIUS client:
- Under the Authorized RADIUS clients section, click Add new RADIUS client.
- Enter a meaningful Name and the IP address of the RADIUS client.
- Enter the shared secret (password) that is used by this client to successfully communicate with the RADIUS server. We recommend that you use a minimum of eight characters, using a combination of alphanumeric and punctuation characters.
- Reenter the shared secret. Don't copy and paste this because this might copy any errors.
- Enter a descriptive Comment and click Add.
- To add an access control rule:
- Under the Access control rules section, click Add new access control rule.
- From the Group list, select the relevant group for this rule.
- From the Rule list, select whether this rule is to Allow access to the wireless network, or to Block access.
- Enter a descriptive Comment and click Add.
- To add a new RADIUS server:
- Under the Forward RADIUS accounting to section, click Add new RADIUS server.
- Enter a meaningful Name and the IP address for the RADIUS server.
- Enter the Shared secret (password) used by connecting RADIUS clients, to successfully communicate with this server. We recommend that you use a minimum of eight characters, using a combination of alphanumeric and punctuation characters.
- Reenter the shared secret. Don't copy and paste this because this might copy any errors.
- Enter a descriptive Comment and click Add.
Follow-up tasks
- To edit or delete a RADIUS client:
- Under the Authorized RADIUS clients section, place your mouse cursor over the relevant RADIUS client, and either click Edit or click Delete.
- Change the details and click Save changes.
- To edit or delete an access control rule:
- Under the Access control rules section, place your mouse cursor over the relevant rule, and either click Edit or click Delete.
- Edit the configuration and click Save changes.
- To edit or delete a RADIUS server:
- Under the Forward RADIUS accounting to section, place your mouse cursor over the relevant RADIUS server, and either click Edit or click Delete.
- Edit the details and click Save changes.
