You can edit, switch off or delete your Web Proxy authentication policies from Web Proxy > Authentication > Manage policies.
Each Web Proxy authentication policy is grouped under a folder with specific Interface and Port configurations.
Reorder Web Proxy authentication policies
Because each folder has a different Interface and Port configuration, reordering your folders won’t have any effect.
Smoothwall applies policies to the Interface and Port configuration from top to bottom. You can reorder policies within a folder in two ways:
- Drag the policy to its new position.
- Select the policy, then select Up or Down to move it to its new position, then select Save.
Then select Restart proxy to apply the changes.
Edit Web Proxy authentication policies
Edit a single policy
- Find the policy and select the Edit policy pencil icon.
- Make changes to the Method, Where section and Options for unauthenticated requests section as needed. For Transparent authentication policies, you can also change the Behaviour.
- Select Confirm.
- Select Save.
- Select Restart proxy to apply the changes.
Edit policies in bulk using the policy folder
- Find the policy folder and select the Edit interface pencil icon.
- Make changes to the Interface and Spoofing fields as needed.
- For Non Transparent authentication policies, you can change the Port.
- For Transparent authentication policies, you can change the Filter HTTPS traffic field and the Behaviour.
- Select Confirm.
- Select Save.
- Select Restart proxy to apply the changes.
Switch off a policy
You can switch off a policy without removing it from the list.
- Select the toggle in the Enabled column.
- Select Restart proxy to apply the changes.
Delete a policy
Warning
If you delete all the policies within a folder but do not delete the folder itself, Filter will stop responding to requests. Ensure you delete the folder as well.
- Find the policy or policy folder and select the Delete icon.
- Select Restart proxy to apply the changes.
