You can add Service objects and Service object groups for reuse across your Smoothwall Firewall rules, Source NAT & LLB rules or Port forwards rules.
For example, if the HTTP version of the Smoothwall Appliance Admin UI uses TCP port 81 and the HTTPS version uses TCP port 441, you can create a Service object to group them together.
You can manage Service objects and groups from the Service object manager page or while you’re setting up rules and policies.
Note
- You can create child Service object groups within parent Service object groups.
- Smoothwall provides a large list of built-in Service objects for you to use. You can edit or delete them in the same way as new Service objects you set up.
- If you have a centrally managed setup, Service objects are replicated to child nodes with ‘Replicated:’ prepended to the name. Service objects already on child nodes are unchanged.
