This article applies to our On-Premise Appliance Filter and Firewall product only, not to Cloud.
You can add a Local Users Directory to your list of Directories. You can use Local User Directories to create user accounts for testing, or in cases where you can’t use an external identity provider to authenticate the user.
Managing Local Users Directories
Add a Local Users Directory
- Go to Services > Authentication > Directories.
- Select Add new directory.
- Make sure the Enabled checkbox is selected.
- If in a multi-tenant environment, select the tenant.
- Select the Type as Local users.
- You can leave the default name of Local users, or amend it.
- Optionally, enter a comment.
- Select Add.
Edit a Local Users Directory
- Go to Services > Authentication > Directories.
- Hover over the Local users directory.
- Select Edit.
- Amend the fields as needed.
- Select Save changes.
Delete a Local Users Directory
- Go to Services > Authentication > Directories.
- Hover over the Local users directory.
- Select Delete.
- Confirm the deletion.
Managing users in a Local Users Directory
Add users
- Go to Services > Authentication > Directories.
- Select the name for the Local Users directory to expand the list.
- Select Add new user.
- Enter a username and password, and select which User Group they should be added to.
Tip
You can also clear the Enabled checkbox from here to keep their profile but temporarily prevent them from being authenticated.
- Select Add.
Edit users
- Go to Services > Authentication > Directories.
- Select the name for the Local Users directory to expand the list.
- Hover over the user.
- Select Edit.
- Make any required changes to username, password or User Group. You can also unselect Enabled from here to keep their profile but temporarily prevent them from being authenticated.
- Select Save changes.
Delete users
To delete a single Local User:
- Go to Services > Authentication > Directories.
- Select the name for the Local Users directory to expand the list.
- Hover over the user.
- Select Delete.
To delete in bulk, select the checkboxes next to multiple Local Users and select Delete.
